Evaluation Criteria for CSCI 6448

A student's grade will be determined by their work in the following categories:

  • Homeworks
  • Midterm
  • Final

The midterm and final are each worth 150 points. Homeworks account for an additional 200 points. This means the total points for the class is 500.

At the end of the semester, your total points in each category will be added to produce your overall point total. This number will be divided by the total points possible to produce a percentage and the percentage will be used to determine your final grade (e.g. 90-100% = A, 80-90% = B, etc.) The cutoff points between grades may change to curve the results slightly. To select cutoffs we will look for groups of similar grades with relatively large gaps between the groups. I wil also take into account intangibles such as class participation, improvement throughout the semester, etc.
