Our Vision:
In Project
MANTIS, we are building hardware, software, tools, networking protocols and
security algorithms to assist in creating next-generation wireless sensor
networks (WSNs). We are working towards a unified framework where well-designed
WSNs seamlessly connect into a context-aware smart space.
Today, we already see a proliferation of sensors that track motion, temperature,
sound, light/vision, humidity, and
a host of other activities. These sensors are rapidly becoming embedded
into everyday spaces such as the home, office, and public spaces.
[I am offering a graduate
seminar on sensor networks in Fall 2003].

One
team of students is working on each of these problems. As time permits, we
will provide updates here.
