This is a new lab manual that provides exercises for distributed virtual machines (in the Rotor context). The distributed virtual machine technology is an important aspect of contemporary, component-based commercial programming environments, The technology is closely related to compilers, programming languages, networks, and operating systems. Nevertheless it does not yet merit its own course in computer science curricula. I believe that this lab manual provides exercises that will be useful in many hands-on courses in these traditional disciplines.
