Group Communication Services
With the ever increasing use of computers in everyday life,
particularly in critical applications, the need for high performance, dependable
distributed systems is increasing. Unfortunately, building such systems
is complicated. Group communication services are a set of fault-tolerant
protocols that provide support for constructing dependable applications.
These services provide consistent information to a group of cooperating
processes in the presence of process or communication failures. I have
been involved in the design and implementation of the following group communication
