Medical Informatics teaches students essential skills necessary for developing usable assistive and performance support systems, which include consideration of the academic and professional transdisciplinary issues that govern the work. An overview of ongoing and emerging topics in medical informatics are presented.

  • To develop the skills and practices necessary to collaborate with medical researchers to create assistive and performance support applications.
  • To develop practical research oriented skills for interdisciplinary research.
  • To provide an overview of ongoing and emerging research topics in medical informatics.

Prerequesites: CSCI 2270. Recommended: CSCI 3002.
