First step, buy pumpkin...4 pound pumpkim gives you 1 and a half cups of cooked pureeed pumpkin. That's what you need for one pumpkin pie. Got the pumpkin? Now carefully, and I do me carefully remove the stem. Cut pumpkin in half, yes right in half. CAREFULLY...pumpkins are tough skinned, but the inside is soft. Scoop out seeds and scrape away all stringy mess...throw this stuff out. Place each half on a microwave dish, cut side face down. It will take anywhere between 15 minutes and 28 minutes on high. You have to keep checking it to see if it's done, poke it with a fork and if its soft it's done. Let it cool and peel off the skin and cut it up and puree in your blender. Good Luck! Recipe to follow....that is this afternoon or tonight. Okay, if you don't want to do it the microwave way, you buy a pumpkin, cut it in slices, so you can peel off the skin, with a potatoe peeler, and scoop away the seeds and stringy mess, now you have the "nice pumpkin pulp" and you cut that up in small pieces and place in a pot. Do this until all the pumpkin is cleaned and cut up into small pieces. Now add a "little" bit of water to the pot, like a quarter of an inch on the bottom, and cook...remember as soon as it starts steaming, or boiling turn it down to low, so you are just simmering, cook until soft, basicly like you would potatoes. When done, drain and drain good...than puree in you blender. Okay, have fun! Mom
