Mom/Grandma's Irish Soda Bread 4 cups of flour 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda 1 teaspoon of salt 2 tablespoons of caraway seeds 3/4 cup of sugar 1 cup of raisins 2 tablespoons melted butter - let cool. 2 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk (To make your own buttermilk add one teaspoon of vinegar to regular milk.) Mix flour, baking soda, salt together add in and mix caraway seeds, sugar, and raisins. Mix in melted butter, beaten eggs, and buttermilk. Cook in a well greased and floured round pan at 350 for 45 minutes...note cooking time varies according to what size round pan you use so make sure it's gold brown on top and test make sure it's cooked through, like you would a cake.
