Sourbraten Place in bowl, add vinegar and wine half way up the meat (1/2 white and 1/2 red). 1 handful of pickling spices (or 1T hot red pepper, 1-2 bay leaves, 1 t celery salt, 4-6 peppers, 4-6 cloves, 1 t mustard seed); Let stand 3 days. Turn meat each day. Dry meat - brown all sides. Add saved vinegar and wine and put pickling spices in bag AND 1 large onion sliced thin. Cook 2-3 hours in crockpot turning. Gravy - add ginger snaps 4-6 of them.
