Butternut Squash From Mrs. Siek Cut the squash in half lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, put fake maple syrup (more maple flavor than real syrup) in the hollow with a pat of butter and a sprinkle of salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Bake all wrapped up in foil (for easy cleaning) for 1 hour or so at 375, until soft. Then scoop out, mash with a fork, test for seasoning, and put in a nice covered serving dish. Can make ahead and nuke in the microwave when you want to eat it. Easy.
