Android GPS Friend Finder

In today's world of rapid social networking people are able to communicate a vast array of information about themselves as well as access similar information about friends and loved ones in moments through websites like The Facebook, Myspace, Flickr, and Livejournal. Additionally, the increasing popularity of text messaging has increased the speed and ease of coordinating social events. However, location based GPS social services are currently limited in scope and expensive to utilize. The Android GPS Friend Finder will implement an application that will be run on a network of GPS-enabled cellular phones using the Android SDK. Through some manner of communication, the phones will trade the user's location information and then the application will utilize the GoogleMaps API to create an interactive mapping of the established clients. This will allow any user who has a GPS phone running Android to take advantage of this service without any additional fees levied against them.
