Instructions for Reading HW Totals

First get your class identifier

To get your MD5 identifier, log onto a CSEL lab machine like elra-01.cs.colorado.edu and give the command "~hal/myid" followed by your 9 digit student ID number, with dashes properly inserted. You'll get back a 7 character identifier that is your id for this course.

Here's a sample session, that discovers the id for student id 123-45-6789 is 28b6e94

elra-01.cs.colorado.edu:hal % myid
Enter Student ID:123-45-6789
Student ID: 123-45-6789
MD5 ID: 28b6e94

Interpreting the Gradebook Totals

The 1st column, ID, is your MD5 identifying number. The list is sorted in increasing order of this ID.

The 2nd column, HW, is the total of points on all homeworks (not including homework extra credit).

The 3rd column, WEC, is the total of all homework extra credit points.

The 4th column, VEC, is the total verbal extra credit points (from class participation).

The 5th column, MEC, is miscellaneous extra credit.

I'll update this list after most homeworks. The main purpose in this is to allow you to check your entry to make sure it's correct. Please notify me about any errors.

At periodic times I'll post the list sorted by homework total (HW). Course grades are determined primarily by the HW column.
