Amanda Hughes is a PhD student in the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is interested in designing and building technologies that gather and interpret on-line information in times of crises. Amanda has an ME in Computer Science, as well as training in social methods and disaster science. Her perspective is unique as she is able to incorporate social observations and data gathered during times of crises in the design and implementation of technology.
