Networks, Data Structures, Unix Tools, C Programming, System Administration.

Research Interests:
Network protocols, measurements, multicast, multimedia conferencing on the Internet, WWW repository design; combinatorics and cryptography too.

Research Projects:
The IEC , (Internet Engineering Curriculum) Repository is an NSF funded project to provide a resource for faculty designing or maintaining networking courses.

Unix System Administration Handbook, Third Edition, (with Garth Snyder, Scott Seebass, and Trent Hein), Prentice Hall, 2001.
Linux Administration Handbook, Second Edition, (with Garth Snyder and Trent Hein), Prentice Hall, 2007.
Lots of network measurement papers done in collaboration with other researchers at CAIDA, the Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis at the San Diego Supercomputer Center on the UCSD campus.
