A Program for Mobile Home Energy Audits

The Mobile Home Energy Audit (MHEA) is being developed by the Buildings and Demand-Side Management Branch of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program. The Audit is to be a tool for evaluating energy use in mobile homes to prioritize weatherization retrofit measures according to their savings-to-investment ratios. The program was developed in C in an MS-DOS environment, using the Menuet and Meta Window toolkits. The student project involved extending the MHEA software in four ways: report printing capabilities, interactive two-dimensional graphics to supplement context sensitive help, graphing and charting capabilities, and an interactive tutorial capability.
