User Friendly Interface to Ice Motion Analysis Workstation
Senior Project: 1989-1990
To effectively perform analysis on satellite images of ice and open water in an
"automatic" sense, it is important to provide an interface that allows the
operator of the system to know how the system is performing, what problems it
is having, and provide easy access to application programs for solving those
problems. This project allowed an operator to interactively develop a graphical
representation of the workstation's software components and their current
status, with indications of the type(s) of processing currently being executed,
how much of the processing has been completed, and some indication when there
is a problem with the processing. The project, developed using an
object-oriented approach and an X Window System interface, was designed to
easily allow the monitoring of arbitrary systems, rather than just the
particular system represented by the ice motion analysis workstation.
