A Voice-Based Event Notification Server

SandCherry is a communications software company based in Boulder, Colorado. The
company provides innovative software solutions which simplify the deployment
and management of speech-enabled, multimodal, and multimedia enhanced
communications services.
The main purpose of this project was to develop a Notification Server and a
mock eBay website. The website makes use of the Notification Server that
provides bidders with "out-bid" notifications via telephone. The Notification
Server not only sets up the phone calls, but also allows bidders to hold or
increase their bid-price without ever having to log on to a computer. The
server has been designed to handle other forms of notifications such as email
and instant messages. The software was implemented in Java.
