Group Benefits Shoppers, Inc. is a small company that develops and markets
software nationwide for the insurance industry. The project was to develop an
appointment and messaging system that would work on a NetBios compatible
network in their offices. The appointment system provided a user friendly
interface similar to what one might see in an appointment calendar found at a
business supply store. The messaging system made use of the NetBios interface
to send arbitrary messages from one station on the network to a remote station
on the same network. Also included with the messaging system was an electronic
telephone message pad which would notify the recipient of a call via the
NetBios interface as soon as the message had been entered. These programs were
written in 80x86 assembler and in C.
