CH2M Hill is an employee-owned, multinational firm based in Englewood, CO and
providing engineering, construction, operations and related services to public
and private clients in numerous industries on six continents. CH2M Hill is
providing application development and IT support to Kaiser Analytical
Management Services (KAMS), a Broomfield-based company specializing in
environmental analytical management for the Department of Energy.
One of KAMS' and CH2M Hill's current projects is administration of the clean up
of the Rocky Flats site northwest of Denver, Colorado. Part of this project
requires the distribution of soil, water, and other samples to different
laboratories for testing to ensure the safety of the clean-up and resulting
site. Of course, all of these disparate laboratories also need an efficient way
to provide the testing results to KAMS and CH2M Hill.
PROMAN (PROfessional sample MANagement system) was designed to improve
the efficiency of this process by making a better, and more uniform, means of
sample and result data management. It is web-based to provide easy access over
the Internet by virtually any lab. Primary features include a sample hierarchy
tree-view and chain-of-custody acknowledgment forms, as well as Eimage and EDD
upload and management utilities. It also includes a new standard XML-based
EDD to which legacy EDDs are automatically converted.
