A Transport Layer Protocol Decoder
Senior Project: 1988-1989
The Colorado Telecommunications Division of Hewlett-Packard builds network
protocol analyzers that are used for research and development, trouble
shooting, and management of data communications networks. Their use requires
software to decode and display protocol information as it is gathered. This
project, written in C and running under a proprietary HP operating system,
provided software to decode network packets as they arrived, and to display the
packets in many different formats to a user of the network protocol analyzer.
This decoding and display capability was implemented for both the ISO Transport
Layer and TCP/IP network protocols.
