VR-1, Inc. develops 3D, multi-player video games for the PC market for
publishers such as Merit Studios, Interactive Magic, Epicenter and Rocket
Science. Much of the game development takes place in St. Petersburg, Russia,
where VR-1 has over 30 programmers. Over the past few years VR-1 has developed
an object-oriented 3D game engine which allows one to create 3D game
environments such as flight simulators, Doom-style games, and other virtual
reality based applications. The goal of this project was to create the game
concept and to develop an application using this technology. The game is based
on piloting a hovercraft around the "Hover Dome", a futuristic entertainment
attraction whose participants were selected by the evil Krylon. It was
developed in C++ using an object-oriented approach and runs under DOS.
