Championship Hearts
Senior Project: 1999-2000
Ryan Anderson, William Bradley and Audrey Zarr
The goal of this project was to develop Championship Hearts, a multi-player
Internet and standalone version of the classic card game of Hearts.
Championship Hearts is based on the same successful model as Championship
Spades, a product that has been selling well for two years. This required some
restructuring and redesign of Championship Spades so that the two games could
share a common code base, as well as implementation of components specific to
the game of Hearts. The final product was developed primarily in Visual Basic
and runs on various flavors of Windows. It allows for feature-rich standalone
play against computer opponents and has the basic infrastructure to allow
gamers to play over a network. Championship Hearts is marketed as shareware
(with an ad-supported freeware version) and is distributed worldwide via the
Web at www.dqsoft.com.
