Audio Over the Internet
Senior Project: 1997-1998
Digital Camera Network (DCN) is a service-oriented developer and integrator of
digital imaging technologies for interactive networks. Located in Boulder,
Colorado, DCN works with web development houses and businesses and large
corporations to develop enticing and entertaining image distribution
solutions. DCN develops unique content ranging from "real-time" images to
navigatable, photo-realistic spaces for its customers and clients.
Additionally, DCN develops and integrates leading-edge technologies to provide
unique channels of content for the ever expanding numbers of industries that
are being supported on the Web.
A previous project developed a PC-based, Windows 95 application that provides
the means to manually or automatically (on a user-defined schedule) refresh web
page graphical content. The application interacts with a common household
video camera attached to a video capture device and uses either a dial-up or a
dedicated internet connection to capture, manipulate and then transfer images
to specified web sites. This project extended this application to include the
capture and transfer of audio information along with the video images. The
software was developed in C++ using an object-oriented approach.
