eSoft is an Internet software company that delivers enhanced broadband services
to small to medium enterprises through a flexible and expandable suite of
Internet security and management tools. eSoft's family of affordable, high
performance products provides businesses with basic Internet applications,
managed services and business-to-business solutions.
The goal of this project was to create a set of tools for automatically
discovering and configuring network parameters on a TCP/IP network. When nodes
are attached to a network, usually a user must manually configure parameters to
allow applications and services to function and participate within the network.
Many of these network parameters can be automatically detected and configured
without manual intervention. These tools were created under Linux for LAN and
WAN network discovery configurations, as well as registering and configuring
the availabilities of common network services.
