Action Item Management System
Senior Project: 1989-1990

IBM-Boulder has a mainframe based system, called the Library Management System
(LMS), which is used to track action items, classified documents, visitor
authorizations, and classified tapes. An action item is initiated by IBM's
customer set and directs IBM to answer a specific question within a certain
time frame. The system tracks these questions and answers and produces the
reports needed to satisfy the customer request. However, the existing system
did not satisfy current needs. The project was to completely regenerate
requirements, redesign, and reimplement the action item subsystem of LMS as a
separate entity. The new system was written using the language REXX, IBM's
Systems Application Architecture (SAA), and IBM's Common User Access (CUA)
protocols.
