Object-Oriented Graphical Display Design Tool for Aviation Applications
Senior Project: 1992-1993
Anne Dahl, Todd Englund, Michael Fox and Joern Magnussen
The project was to develop a general graphical display design tool to be used
in prototyping workstation displays for aviation applications. With such a
product a designer can create a suitable display, say for air-traffic
controlling, by positioning objects on the display and then exercising them
with operational test data. The tool provides a valuable prototyping capability
for creating new displays and quickly verifying their usefulness and
"user-friendliness". The design was done using an object-oriented approach and
the implementation was in C++. The design allows the environment to easily
evolve over time by adding new classes, objects and methods to the base tool.
