The
Undergraduate Committee
has established a set of prerequisites for Senior Project.
These prerequisites are
-
successful completion of a minimum of 36 credit hours of
Computer Science Foundation,
Track Foundation,
Track Core
and Computer Science Electives
with a grade of C- or better in all courses.
-
successful completion of WRTG 3030
(Writing on Science and Society)
or the equivalent with a grade of C- or better.
-
senior standing -- in practice, a student must be reasonably able to
graduate in Spring, Summer, or Fall of the calendar year following
entry into CSCI 4308.
Students who register for CSCI 4308 without meeting the
prerequisites and who have not successfully petitioned to have them waived
are administratively dropped from the class.
Taking a Prerequisite Concurrently with Senior Project
In a few special cases, students are allowed to take a prerequisite course
concurrently with Senior Project. Students wanting to do this should submit a
completed
College of Engineering and Applied Science College Petition
to the Computer Science Department
Undergraduate Committee
via Undergraduate Program Advisor Lesley McDowell.
Petitions won't be considered unless all of the following conditions are met:
A minimum of 30 credit hours of
Computer Science Foundation,
Track Foundation,
Track Core
and Computer Science Electives
have been completed, all with a grade of C- or better.
Overall GPA is 3.0 or higher.
There are no uncompleted IF or IW grades.
The student must have a reasonable plan that allows graduation
in Spring, Summer, or Fall of the calendar year following
entry into CSCI 4308.
Note that these are conditions that the Undergraduate Committee has established
for submitting a petition. Meeting these conditions does not guarantee
approval of the petition.
