The Executive Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the chair,
especially on personnel issues. It conducts the annual performance reviews
and periodic post-tenure reviews of the faculty. The Executive Committee
may at times delegate some of its responsibilities to subcommittees, other
faculty and staff, and to ad hoc committees. It also forms the Search
Committee, which it invites other faculty to join.
Membership
This committee consists of the department chair, who acts as the committee
chair, four senior faculty members (one of whom normally is an untenured senior
faculty member), and a graduate degree candidate.
