Colloquium - Porter and Tallman

Technology Transfer at CU
Ken Porter
Director, Technology Transfer Office, University of Colorado
IP Manager, Technology Transfer Office, University of Colorado
10/30/2003
3:30pm-4:30pm

In 2000, CU ranked fourth among public institutions receiving federal research funds. Recently, CU's regents and president have made technology transfer a high priority. With new funding and personnel the revamped Technology Transfer Office (TTO) will provide valuable "next steps" leadership: i.e., identifying, protecting, packaging, and licensing to business the intellectual property (IP) and know-how resulting from the research process. The regents also enacted a revised IP policy on January 16, 2003. This presentation will be on technology transfer at CU: what our office does, how we can help and how to best work together.
