Michael Burl
Assistant Professor
11/5/2002
3:30pm-4:30pm

New algorithms and increased computing power are enabling the development of intelligent systems that can sense, understand, and interact with their environment. In this talk, Michael Burl will give an overview of some of his work in machine learning, signal processing, and computer vision with applications ranging from building a commercially-viable home robot to detecting explosives with an electronic nose to developing an intelligent spacecraft that is able to autonomously discover and respond to planetary features of scientific interest.
