OSKI: Open Shared Kalendaring Infrastructure
Grad Student, Computer Science
2/1/2000
3:30pm-4:30pm

OSKI (Open Shared Kalendaring Infrastructure) is a scalable, highly-available, and fault-tolerant service that provides Calendar Services for groups of people. OSKI is designed to work with both disconnected and connected devices. As an infrastructure, we designed OSKI to provide as rich set of mechanisms while minimizing the number of policies. In this presentation, I will discuss some groupware issues that guided the requirements for a group calendar application, as well as the overall design of a wide area system designed to work with disconnected devices.
