Colloquium - Nardi

DLC 1B70

Blogging: Past, Present and Future
School of Information and Computer Science, University of California, Irvine

I will discuss my research on both individually authored blogs and political blogs. I argue that blogs are a form of social activity, rather than journals or diaries. The empirical research was conducted in Spring 2003 in and around Stanford University, and November 2003 - February 2004 at the Howard Dean campaign headquarters in Burlington, Vermont.

Jointly sponsored with the Center for Lifelong Learning & Design and the Institute of Cognitive Science.

The Department holds colloquia throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. These colloquia, open to the public, are typically held on Thursday afternoons, but sometimes occur at other times as well. If you would like to receive email notification of upcoming colloquia, subscribe to our Colloquia Mailing List. If you would like to schedule a colloquium, see Colloquium Scheduling.

Sign language interpreters are available upon request. Please contact Stephanie Morris at least five days prior to the colloquium.
