Plan Recognition for Computer Network Security and Assistive Technology Systems

To be effective, both computer network security and assistive technology systems require a new and more powerful kind of plan recognition algorithm. This talk presents the Probabilistic Hostile Agent Task Tracker (PHATT) that performs plan recognition based on a model of plan execution rather than plans as formal models. As a result PHATT is able to handle partially observable domains and domains where the agent can abandon goals. This makes it uniquely suited for the computer network security and assistive technology domains.
