Susan Hendrix is the winner of the 2005
Dorothy Martin Doctoral Student Award. The award is intended to "honor those
who exemplify the ideals of Dorothy Martin, Professor Emeritus, who was a
faculty member in the Psychology Department at CU-Boulder for 46 years, and
who was instrumental in establishing the first CU Women's Center in 1964."
Those ideals include
The notification letter that Sue received said, "It was apparent to the
committee, in reading your application materials, that your life and work do
indeed exemplify the ideals of Dorothy Martin." The award is for $2000.
Sue's research involves creating software to help children design their own
pop-up books and cards.
Her advisor is Associate Professor Michael Eisenberg.
