e-textile construction kit introduction part 1
installing the "Arduino-textile" software

installation
I have added e-textile construction kit libraries and custom examples to the fabulous Arduino platform. You can download my "arduino-textile" distribution here:
mac: arduino-textile-08-mac.zip (power PC only. make your own Intel version ;-), see my hackers guide)
pc: arduino-textile-08-PC.zip

To install the software and configure it:
  • Download the arduino-textile software from this page and decompress it.
  • If you are using a mac, browse to the M-arduino-textile-06 folder, open the drivers folder and double click the appropriate package to install the appropriate driver for your USB-arduino connector. Restart your computer.
  • Browse to the arduino-textile-08 folder and click on the Arduino icon to start the Arduino program
  • Plug in the USB-arduino connector that clips to the e-textile patch.
  • If you are using a PC, the driver for your USB-arduino connector should automatically install when you plug in the USB-arduino connector.
  • From the Tools menu, select the appropriate serial port. On a mac, the port will appear when you plug in your connector. on a PC the port is usually the highest numbered COM port.
  • See the Arduino troubleshooting page if you have any problems with the install.
  • You're ready to play!
